About the Role:

Epicor is seeking a results-oriented team member with strong corporate and/or public accounting experience, effective communication skills, clear understanding of M&A and strategic investment transactions, and experience working on cross-functional teams.   The Senior Accountant for M&A and Strategic Projects is within the Controllership organization and will report to the Senior Accounting Manager, M&A and Strategic Projects. This role will be responsible for assessing, tracking, and reporting on strategic, operational, and financial aspects of the team’s strategic projects, including M&A, that will transform the Record-to-Report team into a world class industry leading organization. 

What You’ll Do:
Assist the global Accounting functions in identifying and prioritizing continuous process improvement across the finance function and use cases for finance process automation
Offer guidance and recommendations for process changes and technology solutions
Leverage best practices, industry standards, methodologies, and frameworks to define and execute on strategic projects
Facilitate automation of analytical and operational tasks and processes at scale 
Ensure that the technical solutions adhere to Epicor’s high-quality standards and applicable SOX compliance
Work closely with M&A leads and global Finance teams to understand the deal structure and requirements that impact US GAAP / statutory accounting and financial reporting
Ensure accurate and timely recording of M&A transactions and review periodic, quarterly, and year-end close activities and reconciliations in compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements
Provides assistance to external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Tackle various ad hoc projects and tasks within the Finance team

What You Need to Succeed: 
Ideal candidate should be both a strategic thinker and have the ability to dive deep into the transaction details
3+ years accounting experience
Public accounting experience a plus
Experience with system implementations a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA License a plus

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:
Experience in evaluating and streamlining processes
Experience with multi-company and multi-location environment
Experience with international accounting, including multi-currency translations
Hands-on experience with fully integrated accounting system 
Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills 
Able to partner with a range of Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, in a fast-paced environment and instill a sense of urgency
Strong team building skills
