Description & Requirements

As the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and have exposure into both financial reporting and technical accounting. Best of two worlds! You will play a key role in the preparations of the quarterly and annual financial statements, researching and accounting for complex transactions such as acquisitions, debt modifications, and equity contracts, and preparing internal management reporting. This new opportunity will allow for you to contribute to both processes and partner with business leaders to support our growing technology company. The ability to meet deadlines and flexibility while handling changing priorities are essential in this position.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the monitoring, researching, and interpretation of GAAP and accounting pronouncements for policy/financial statement implications.
  • Assist in the research and documentation of complex and non-routine technical accounting matters & prepare accounting memoranda supporting complex transactions.
  • Maintain procedures to comply with internal control requirements and assist in improving policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of departmental efforts.
  • Assist with preparation of reporting documents.
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and change of control regulations, including newly issued accounting pronouncements.
  • Prepare detailed footnote support files and disclosure checklists.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit requests as applicable. 
  • Assists with preparation of quarterly debt certification reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A, and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.
  • Assist in other duties and special projects as required.

What you will likely bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or combination of public accounting with public company experience.
  • Excellent accounting skills and strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and change of control requirements.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities.
  • Ability to prioritize as needed to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and cross functionality, including with multiple companies and locations. 
  • Ability to drive process improvement.
  • Very strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to research and solve complex issues.

What could set you apart:

  • Active CPA license.
  • Technology/Software industry experience.
  • Excellent Excel as well as analytical and complex spreadsheet skills.
  • Purchase accounting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the Workiva platform.
  • Experience with foreign currency translation.
