Job Title: Director of Global Public Relations and Communications

The Director of Public Relations and Communications will report to the VP of Corporate Marketing and will serve a multifaceted global role encompassing public relations, corporate communications, crisis management, analyst relations, and executive communications. This individual will work closely with the executive team, key internal stakeholders, and external consultants and agencies for public and media relations to maintain and strengthen Epicor’s brand, reputation, and visibility. The position involves engaging key internal and external audiences, creating powerful messages, storylines, and communications programs which drive awareness both internally and externally. In addition, this professional will be instrumental in ensuring consistency of messages across audiences, reinforcing the vision and corporate objectives, including pertinent corporate/brand image, identity and competitive positioning. And finally, this position will monitor on a broad scale basis the overall effectiveness of our communications programs.
Develop subject matter expertise on our customers and technology, issues that impact our business, and the competitive landscape.
Create, execute and dedicatedly lead a strategic and dynamic communications plan that supports the long-term brand building and business goals, as well as regular communication touchpoints
Craft a strong thought leadership platform to position the company and its executives as premier leaders with vision in the industry, including media relations and speaking engagements.
Lead the planning and execution of a targeted, global analyst relations program.
Implement a vision for internal communications to align culture and knowledge across our growing and geographically dispersed team.
Guide the global team to develop high-quality materials, including communications narratives, public relations, as well as internal, executive and corporate communications.
Direct management of team members and agencies. Budgeting and forecasting across the function.
Identify areas for improvement and develop systems and processes to proactively address.
Create and execute initiatives to build corporate reputation, including seeking opportunities for key employees to serve as experts at industry events.
Experience building and managing media programs that deliver measurable results.
Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative.
Self-starter approach to work and strong problem solver.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with strategic communications plan development, news releases, fact sheets, talking points, and executive briefing documents.
An ability to roll your sleeves up and build out the programs while also bringing strategic insights and framework to this function.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a track record of successfully interfacing with executives and influencers that are both internal and external.
BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field preferred.
At least 10 years of communications experience, preferably including technology/SaaS/ERP and thought leadership programs.
Effective Communication: Expertise with cutting-edge communications practices and technologies, along with top-notch oral and written communication skills and understanding of social media usage in business applications. Excellent writing, editing and project management skills.
Leadership: Ability to lead a global team of employees and agencies, and to motivate each person to achieve consistently strong results and to grow and develop as a communications professional.
Prioritization and Planning: The ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously and move them to completion, working with a cross-section of colleagues and resources.
Industry Knowledge: Passion for technology with desire to build ongoing industry relationships. Working knowledge of communication principles regarding government affairs and regulatory issues a plus.
Travel: 10-20%, with some international travel.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 10+ years of experience in Corporate Communications including PR, Crisis Management, Community Relations, Media Relations, Executive and Employee Communications
