Epicor utilizes state-of-the art software systems to produce sales quotes of its ERP products. These systems enable users to configure and price highly complex sales proposals. Corporate Sales Operations has ownership of these tools. The Sales Analyst is responsible for gathering business requirements for purposes of designing these tools; creating all processes and policies that govern the use of the tools; providing training and business support for said tools to all users and for the maintenance and administration of the tools.
In addition, the Analyst is responsible for the gathering of business requirements, design, implementation, administration and business support of the Salesforce.com application.
The Sales Analyst is also responsible for the execution of any other processes or procedures absorbed by Corporate Sales Operations, whether in a temporary, transitional or permanent basis. This may include contract execution or migration/upgrade mappings.
In addition, the Sales Analyst may be required to cross-train on and execute tasks owned by Corporate Sales Operations’ peer groups, which may include order processing, product registration or licensing.
The Analyst is expected to understand the importance of prevailing industry best practices in the Sales Operations field in order to adequately advise his/her peers, his/her management and the staff of the business unit(s) that he/she supports.
The Analyst is expected to have a superior analytical ability and will be expected to recognize and recommend changes or improvements to current processes or policies.
Building tools, providing support and administering processes or policies may require that the Analyst interact heavily with Sales, Marketing, IT, HR and Finance and he/she is accordingly required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Analyst is expected to complete his/her daily work with little to no supervision. The Analyst is expected to initiate and complete special projects and assignments with only some initial general instructions and guidance and some periodic interaction with his/her supervisor or more senior members of the team. The Analyst is expected to occasionally act as project lead for special projects or assignments and lead a team of his/her peers. The Analyst is expected to travel occasionally, sometimes unsupervised, to satellite offices to gather business requirements, gather data, perform user surveys or deliver user training. The Analyst is expected to exercise his/her own judgment in making decisions on-the-fly when he/she encounters situations that are outside of defined processes or policies.
The ideal Analyst candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in the software industry, some knowledge of revenue recognition practices, ample knowledge of the quote-to-cash process and will have intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio as well as prior experience working with CRM, database, business intelligence and back office systems (Siebel, Salesforce.com, Oracle, SAP, etc.). A bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline is preferred, but may be substituted with substantial experience in the Sales Operations field. A graduate degree and foreign language skills are a plus.
